In the production of our products, we attach particular importance to environmentally friendly, responsible manufacturing processes and sustainable procurement of raw materials. For us as a company, sustainability includes not only environmental awareness but also a commitment to social and ecological issues in all areas.

Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC)

Frank Trautz takes another step towards a safe and responsible future. In October 2024, Frank Trautz was successfully certiﬁed according to the RJC Code of Practices (COP). As a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), we are committed to running the company in accordance with the RJC principles.

Gold

Aware that the extraction of raw materials has a major impact on our environment, a large proportion of the gold used in our company is already recycled and sourced from certified suppliers. All jewelry from our company is made exclusively with gold that we purchase from our partners. We guarantee the use of sustainable fine gold obtained from recycling or from certified companies. We regularly melt down and recycle old jewelry and then process it into new jewelry. New gold is purchased from our foundry partner and our refinery, which are members of the RJC or adhere to the principles of the COC.

Diamonds

We combine our experience with innovation to design jewelry that is valued by our customers, using only ethically sourced, natural diamonds. We guarantee that no diamond used in our jewelry comes from conflict zones. Our suppliers confirm that no conflict diamonds are supplied and that the recommendations of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) are followed. Our gem lab also randomly checks the diamonds we get to make sure they’re high quality and from conflict-free sources before we use them. With over 90 years of experience in the diamond trade, we know how to pick out the best and most ethical diamonds. We don’t use any diamonds that are totally or partly synthetic and made in a lab. We can assure you that all our diamonds are sourced using the most advanced practices currently available on the market. We purchase diamonds from “sightholders” and diamond dealers who are RJC certified.

Manufacturing and duty of care

Our goal is to offer the best quality by combining innovation and tradition. We therefore place great value on new technologies and constantly strive for advanced technical and ecological solutions. Our jewelry is manufactured in factories in Pforzheim and Asia. We have constant control over the production processes in both of our manufacturing centers. Production in Asia is BSCI certified. We insist on safe and healthy working conditions.

In our company, this also includes adequate remuneration, a pleasant working atmosphere, and a good work-life balance. We strictly reject child labor and work exclusively with partners who respect environmental impact, human rights, labor rights, and mining practices.

Our monitoring of the supply chain means that we maintain quality standards throughout the entire manufacturing process, verify the source of every raw material used, and at the same time know how to adapt quickly to the needs of our customers.
